Ferret Shelters – Indiana

We are committed to making sure that not only do the ferrets in our rescue get adopted into a new home, but they are adopted into their perfect forever home; the home they should have gotten the first time around. That said, we recognize that not all ferrets can or will be adopted out. Some are in their forever home here with us and we are equally committed to providing them with all their physical needs and loving their little souls as well. They, in turn, provide us with love, good humor and tireless fuzzy antics to brighten our days. We think this is a perfect arrangement.

Five Points Ferret Refuge has been rescuing ferrets since 2009 in the Indianapolis area. We began innocently enough, searching for a couple of personal pets and discovered so many ferrets in need of good homes. Unable to find a local rescue, we took in several and while having them vetted, our veterinarian suggested we start rescuing. Unknowingly, we already were.

Heartland Small Animal Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)3 rescue based in South Bend, Indiana.

Heartland Small Animal Rescue was originally founded to rescue small pocket pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small & furry animals from shelters and adopt them out to forever homes through our established adoption program. A few years later, we expanded the rescue to include cats and in 2010 we expanded again to include dogs. Since then, our rescue has significantly grown as we continue to rescue pets in need from our local shelters as well as other high-capacity shelters throughout the Midwest. When space is available, we also accept pets from owners who are no longer able to care for them. We recently went through yet another expansion and are now welcoming reptiles and birds into the rescue.
